Sports College
You are here:Physical Education and sport are an integral part of the educational experience for all our students and Wexham School seeks to achieve a distinctive identify through sport and physical activity.
There is a growing body of empirical research demonstrating how regular participation in exercise not only brings physical health benefits but also serves to improve memory, concentration and enhance academic performance.
We believe that for students to fulfil their potential in their academic studies a significant part of the foundation for this comes from physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, equipping young people with the mind-set they need to achieve their best. This belief underpins the philosophy and approach to all Physical Education and sport at Wexham, with an emphasis on participation, ambition and a willingness to embrace challenge.
As a Sports College Wexham provides more than two hours of curriculum time Physical Education for all students in Key Stages 3 and 4 plus an extensive programme of extra-curricular sports and activities before school, at lunch times and after school. School teams regularly compete and achieve success within Slough and across the county.
