On Tuesday 23rd November our Year 9 girls revisited STEM and how this links into their everyday life.  They researched about Thomas Edison a prolific inventor and one the founders of General Electric ('GE') and what career opportunities are available at GE.  The girls had an opportunity to hear from mentors at GE, their roles and how they became involved with STEM. Truly inspirational!  A number of activities were carried out which included the girls thinking about their daily routines and evaluating how they could reduce waste by upto 20%.  Plus points are that a number of students are now considering career paths in STEM, particularly after hearing from the employees at GE and learning about their roles and life experiences.  They also enjoyed their interaction with GE staff and mentors.
