The Importance of Regular Physical Activity

An article published in the Times earlier this week identified that children in Britain are among the least active in the world and that the sedentary behaviour of 'generation inactive' in the UK is a significant concern for future health problems.

At Wexham all our students participate in a minimum of almost three hours of physical education every week and many do more than this by attending extra-curricular clubs before school, at lunch time and after school.

Regular physical activity is crucial to our physical health but it can also enhance emotional and social wellbeing. We encourage all our students to be active every day and parents / families can play a major role in encouraging and supporting this. For example, can your child walk or cycle to school instead of being driven?
