Careers and Guidance
You are here:At Wexham, we aim to provide targeted information, advice and guidance about a range of careers and further education opportunities. We understand that every child is different and has different interests and ambitions. We aim to nurture these so that every student can reach their potential in their desired field.
Students receive regular mentoring from their form tutors and their interests are tracked throughout their time at Wexham. Students have at least one meeting with a careers guidance specialist and receive a detailed action plan.
Specialist one to one mentoring also helps students to stay on track for their goal and provides useful advice on how to make themselves more marketable to potential employers and university admissions teams.
All Sixth Form students have their own personal Unifrog account where they can search courses and apprenticeships specifically linked to their interests and target grades. Student interests and searches are tracked so parents, teachers and the student can have meaningful conversations about their future pathways.
Wexham School Sixth Form has a ‘High Achievers’ program where students are encouraged, supported and mentored into applying to prestigious universities such as Oxford and Cambridge.
Wexham School Sixth Form has developed working links with the University of Oxford, Royal Holloway, Brunel University London, University of Bristol and Buckinghamshire New University to provide specialist and bespoke advice and support for our students in making decisions on their next pathway and supporting them in the application process.
