The Team and Facilities:

The Dance Department consists of one specialist Dance teacher. Wexham School has fantastic facilities for Dance including a high spec Dance Studio with sprung flooring and a top of the range sound system.

Key Stage 3:

Dance has a thriving department at Key Stage 3, with a wide variety of opportunities for our students to develop their skills, confidence and self-belief. Our ethos states that dance should challenge students of all abilities to use their expression, physicality and creativity to achieve incredible things. Students will study a range of topics from 'The London Riots’ to ‘The Hunger Games’.

Within the Creative Arts faculty we will be running a Creative Arts Inter-form Competition in the Summer Term. The students have the opportunity to compete against the other forms and thrive on creating and exploring their own ideas.

Key Stage 4:

At Wexham School we study the AQA GCSE Course. This begins in Year 9 where the students are given the opportunity to develop their technique skills in preparation to start the GCSE course. GCSE Dance enable candidates to develop skills, knowledge and understanding of dance as choreographer, performer and critic through, applying and adapting a wide range of skills and techniques effectively in performing and choreographing dance, including the ability to improve creating dances for a range of purposes and in response to different stimuli, developing the ability to analyse, evaluate and appreciate dance.
